Download Vsem for your computer
The Windows app and the browser extension record conversations right on the employee’s computer and send them to the dashboard for review. Connecting takes one location code from the dashboard — no logins or passwords.
The Windows app
For an agent’s computer and a till PC. Runs in the system tray, starts with Windows and updates itself.
- Calls in WhatsApp Desktop, softphones (Zoiper, MicroSIP), Telegram and Zoom on the computer — on two tracks: the microphone is the employee, the headphone audio is the other party. The sides never get mixed up.
- Calls are detected automatically: recording starts when both sides speak and stops after 10 seconds of silence. You can also start it manually from the tray icon menu.
- “Counter” location: a till PC with a USB microphone records counter conversations in 5-minute parts.
- No internet — recordings wait on disk and are sent when the connection is back.
Windows only: 10 or 11, 64-bit, about 65 MB. No administrator rights needed. On macOS and Linux, use the browser extension.
The file doesn’t have a publisher’s digital signature yet, so the browser and SmartScreen don’t recognise it. Any new unsigned file looks like this. The signature will be added before the commercial launch.
- The browser says “This file isn’t commonly downloaded”: hover over the file in the downloads list → “…” → “Keep” → “Show more” → “Keep anyway”.
- The blue SmartScreen window: click “More info” (under the text) → “Run anyway”.
- If your antivirus deleted the file, add it to the exclusions or write to us — we’ll help.
Installation
- Run the downloaded file. The app copies itself into your programs folder and turns on autostart.
- The “Connect to a location” window opens. Enter the 8-character code from the dashboard (where to get it — see below).
- The “Agent” field is the name or extension number of the employee at this computer. It’s optional, but this way the scores go to the right person.
- The Vsem icon in the system tray (bottom right, by the clock) turns teal — the app is waiting for a call. Red means recording, grey means not connected.
The browser extension
For calls from the browser and online meetings — on Windows, macOS and Linux. It records one tab: the tab’s audio is the other party, your microphone is the employee.
- Calls in WhatsApp Web and web telephony: Bitrix24, amoCRM, Zadarma, Mango and others — with a button, or automatically on sites you have marked yourself.
- Online meetings in Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser — “Meeting” mode, after participants have been told.
- A red “REC” badge and a label on the page while recording. The file stays on the computer only until the server confirms it.
A Chromium-based browser, version 116 or newer. The extension isn’t in the browser stores yet, so it is installed from a folder — it takes 2 minutes.
Where it works
- Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Yandex Browser, Opera, Brave — on Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Extensions page: Chrome — chrome://extensions, Edge — edge://extensions, Yandex Browser — browser://extensions, Opera — opera://extensions, Brave — brave://extensions.
Firefox isn’t supported: it doesn’t let extensions record a tab’s audio. On Windows, use the Windows app; on macOS and Linux, one of the browsers above.
Installation
- Download the archive and unpack it: on Windows — right-click → “Extract All”, on macOS — double-click, on Linux — “Extract Here”. Put the folder where it will stay (for example, “Documents”): the browser loads the extension from it.
- Open your browser’s extensions page (addresses above): copy the address into the address bar and press Enter.
- Turn on “Developer mode” — a switch on the same page (in Chrome — top right, in Edge — in the menu on the left).
- Click “Load unpacked” and choose the unpacked folder — the one that contains the manifest.json file.
- Pin the Vsem icon to the browser toolbar: in Chrome — the puzzle icon to the right of the address bar → the pin.
- The extension settings open: click “Allow microphone” and confirm. Recording won’t start without this.
Updating: unpack the new version into the same folder, replacing the files, and click “Reload” (the circular arrow) on Vsem on the extensions page. The location connection and unsent recordings are kept.
How to connect it to a location and an employee
- Sign in to the dashboard at vsem.kz/app → “Locations and connection”. Choose a location of the “Calls” type (for a till — “Counter”) or create a new one.
- On the location, click “Connect a device” → “Get code and QR”: 8 characters and a QR code appear. Enter the code in the app or the extension — once.
- Done: the location in the dashboard shows “connected” and the time of the last signal.
A computer is tied to a location, not to a person: all its recordings go to that location. The employee is set with the “Agent” field — agents are not identified by voice. If people take turns at the computer, create a location for each of them or change the agent name in the settings. A new code in the dashboard disconnects all old devices of that location — that’s how you switch off a lost laptop.
How to record an online meeting
A sales meeting is scored with its own checklist: the goal of the meeting, the customer’s need, the offer, the next step. Meeting recordings are labelled “Meeting” in the dashboard.
- Open the meeting in Google Meet, Zoom or Teams in the browser and click the Vsem icon — “Meeting” mode opens. On other sites, click “Is this a meeting?”.
- Tell the participants: say it out loud and post a ready-made text in the meeting chat — the “Copy text for chat” button.
- Tick “I have told participants about the recording” and click “Record meeting”. Silence doesn’t stop the recording: at the end, click “Stop” or close the tab.
- In the dashboard, add the “Client meeting” scenario: “Checklist” → “Checklist scenarios” → “+ Scenario”. Meetings will be scored against it, calls against the main checklist.
Record a meeting only after telling the participants: the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Personal Data and Its Protection” requires it. The extension won’t start recording a meeting until you tick that you have told them. If a participant objects, don’t record. Ready-made notice texts are in the dashboard: “Settings” → “Sign and texts for customers”.
What to check after installing
- Dashboard → “Locations and connection”: the location shows “connected”, last signal a minute ago.
- Make a 1–2 minute test call on a headset: say hello and name the company, and let the other person answer.
- In 2–3 minutes the conversation appears under “Conversations”. Open it: your first line should be labelled “employee”, the answers — “customer”.
- In the browser, the icon shows a red “REC” while recording, then a blue arrow (sending), then an icon with no badge: everything has been sent.
- A test meeting: the conversation card says “Meeting” next to the location, and the checklist is “Client meeting”.
If the sides are swapped or the conversation hasn’t appeared within 10 minutes, write to us with the time of the call. Nothing needs to be reinstalled.
Good to know
- You need a headset: with speakers, the other party’s voice also gets into the employee’s microphone.
- The Windows app records the default audio device. If the call goes through another device, make it the default.
- The extension only hears its own tab: calls in desktop programs are recorded by the Windows app.
- In a meeting, all remote participants are one “other party” track: it doesn’t tell which of them is speaking.
- WhatsApp on an Android phone can’t be recorded by any method — only WhatsApp Desktop or WhatsApp Web on a computer.
